A hand-built rocking chair designed around comfort, balance, and visual rhythm.
This piece is constructed from solid hardwood and shaped almost entirely by hand; from the carved seat to the tapered legs and spindles. The result is a chair that feels light and open, while still being structurally grounded and built to last.
The seat is carved into a shallow dish to support the body naturally, with a continuous curve that flows into a fan of slender back spindles. These spindles rise into a gently angled headrest, creating a flexible back that adapts subtly as you sit. The arms are set deliberately to frame the sitter without crowding, and the rocker profile is tuned for a smooth, controlled motion rather than exaggerated swing.
Every joint is mechanically locked using traditional joinery with expansion wedges, providing long-term durability without reliance on hidden hardware. Subtle details like the contrasting wedges and through joinery are left visible as part of the design.
Finished with a hand-applied hardwax oil, the surface retains a natural feel while offering durable protection.
This chair is made one at a time, and each piece will carry slight variation in grain, tone, and shaping which is part of what makes it unique.
A solid-wood dining chair built around a simple idea: let the structure become the decoration.
Four tapered legs pass directly through the seat, leaving the exposed joinery visible at the surface. Six hand-shaped spindles rise from the seat in two groups to support a broad wooden backrest. The result is a chair with a light, open back and a sturdy stance, with the details of how it was made left plainly visible.
The Dining Chair is available in white oak, cherry, maple, and walnut. The design remains the same, but each wood gives the chair a distinctly different character, from the lighter, quieter grain of maple to the deeper color and figure of walnut.
Available individually for $749 or as a set of four for $2,499. Sets of four may be ordered in a single wood or mixed across available species.
Each chair is made individually from solid hardwood. Wood is a natural material, so grain, color, and figure will vary from chair to chair. The chair you receive will follow the same design and general dimensions shown here, while the particular grain and character of the wood will be its own.

The Spindle Bench is a handmade solid-wood bench built around a shaped seat flowing to a sweeping field of slender spindles connecting the backrest.
The version you see here shows a seat and a headrest made of Poplar which has been finished in French Gray milk paint, while the spindles and understructure are walnut. Twenty-five hand-fit walnut spindles rise from the seat into a trapezoidal headrest, creating a gentle rearward sweep and a strong rhythmic line across the back.
The seat is lightly sculpted for comfort and retains subtle hand-tool texture from the shaping process. At 36 inches wide, it is compact enough for an entryway, bedroom, or waiting area while still reading as a substantial piece of furniture.
This bench can be ordered in Cherry, Maple, Walnut, or White Oak. Bare wood comes standard, milk paint is optional.
