This offering begins with a design and materials deposit, which secures your place in the build queue and initiates a collaborative design process. From there, we’ll work together to create a piece that reflects both your needs and the principles that guide my work: proportion, durability, and a respect for material.
What to Expect
1. Design Consultation
We begin with a one-on-one video call to understand:
how the piece will be used
where it will live
any references, constraints, or inspiration you have
This is an open conversation—no prior design experience required.
2. Concept & Drawings
Following our conversation, I’ll develop:
initial drawings of the piece
key dimensions and proportions
early thoughts on structure and joinery
We’ll refine these together until the design feels right.
3. Material Selection
Once the design is finalized, we’ll select:
wood species (cherry, walnut, maple, oak, etc.)
grain direction and visual character
any contrasting elements or details
Where possible, I’ll source boards specifically for your piece.
4. Build Phase
The piece is then built by hand in my shop using:
solid hardwood construction
traditional joinery methods
hand-shaped components where appropriate
I may share updates throughout the process, but the focus remains on the work itself.
5. Delivery
Each piece is delivered in person.
I handle delivery and placement to ensure the piece arrives exactly as intended and is situated properly in your space.
Deposit & Pricing
The deposit secures your project and covers the design phase
It is applied toward the final cost of the piece
Final pricing will be confirmed once the design and materials are agreed upon
